Update

Journal entry by Ashley Millan —

Good morning everyone!

Sorry for the lack of updates, Mike has been pretty groggy so he hasn’t been able to focus on typing.

Yesterday was his last day of Chemo (yay)! He continued with the ATG which he will have today as well. ATG is an anti-rejection medication which believe it or not contains rabbit serum, it helps prevent the bodies organs from rejecting the new cells he will receive from his donor. The side effects make him feel pretty weak and uncomfortable but the nurses have all agreed he is doing wonderful!

This morning has been another busy one full of Doctors and nurses looking him over. According to both Doctors we saw this morning Mike is right on track with where he should be and that’s great news.

Other then that he had a pretty long night not being able to get comfortable and stomach issue are still continuing. As I write, he is fast asleep in the recliner I sleep in each night. The bed is starting to get uncomfortable for him and I think he just needed to get out of it for a while!

Tomorrow is transplant day!! Which they are also calling his second birthday! I will be sure to post an update soon after with photos for everyone to see.

I know it’s not much of an update but no news is good news if you ask me.

Take care everyone!
