Day +9

Journal entry by Ashley Millan —

Happy Saturday everyone!

The past two days haven’t been Mike’s best. He has had a lot of nausea and throwing up, accompanied by a non stop headache. Fevers have also come back and are being treated with Tylenol. Today he will receive a bag of platelets since fevers seem to eat those up.

Yesterday he decided that he was ready to completely shave his head since his pillow was constantly getting covered in hair. So we took the guard off the clippers and went as short as we could! He wears it well and is much more comfortable.

From the Dr’s stand point, Mike continues to follow the typical patterns. Fevers are actually pretty normal and blood cultures are taken every 24 hours just to be sure. They also put him on a new nausea medication as well as an additional antibiotic. Zofran may be what was causing the headaches, so that one is now off the table unless he really needs it.

Thanks for checking in and have a great weekend everyone!
