These are an accumulation of photos that were taken a handful of days prior to actual transplant day. My oldest son Reece turned 4 years old two days after I was admitted. The doctors felt my pain of missing my son, so without me knowing they contacted my wife and allowed my sons to visit that day. They brought us popsicles and cake to celebrate. Also pictured are days of chemotherapy prior to transplant. There was a total of 7 days straight of chemotherapy treatments followed by one day of rest before transplant day. I was able to bring my computer, video games, coloring books, magazines, etc. to help pass the time. Eventually after time I got bored and with the nausea from the chemo I just didn’t want to do anything but lay down. You don’t realize how many hours are in a day until you sit and watch the clock tick. Im glad those times are behind me now, they were rough, but with the support of my friends, family and especially my wife I was able to make it through.

Stephanie Crouch is the Owner and Creative Genius behind Rustic Moon Photography. She is also a very close friend of mine who I approached when I was first told by my doctor that I was going to need a Bone Marrow Transplant. I asked Stephanie if she would follow me along this journey and help document the major aspects of the transplant in hopes that one day someone in need of a transplant can use this story as a positive affirmation that everything is going to get better. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to be in my life and support me and my family in this journey.
